The Prepaid Awards 2009
Newcastle Building Society Celebrates Award Win
Newcastle Building Society and Programme Manager Branded Payment Solutions (BPS) were awarded Best Prepaid Programme Manager at the annual Prepaid Awards 2009 held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London, on the 13th October. The award recognises the Society and BPS for providing their clients the complete programme including a European platform with local language experts on hand, state of the art technology, customer satisfaction and a breadth of market intelligence and product knowledge. The Society was also shortlisted in five other award categories as a result of successful partnerships with programme managers. This latest win follows last year’s success when the Society was awarded Leading Prepaid Organisation.
The Prepaid Awards were created to celebrate innovation and best practice in the prepaid industry and attract the most influential people associated with the prepaid arena.

FS Tech Awards 2009
Newcastle Building Society claims IT award
Newcastle Building Society is celebrating following a win at the FS Tech Awards 2009. The Society was delighted to be named the winner of the 'Best Business Continuity Implementation' Award. The Society built a data centre and synchronised secondary site that can accommodate 500 people with high availability telephones and computer systems, replicating applications as needed to satisfy the Society's, and it's third party clients, requirements, both now and in the future. Guests from all sectors of the financial services industry attended the high profile event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

The Card Awards
Newcastle Building Society has been celebrating following a triumphant night at the Card Awards 2009. The Society and Tuxedo Money Solutions were awarded the prize for Best Prepaid Card Marketing Campaign of the Year whilst a second award was achieved for Best Cross-Selling Programme of the Year with White Eagle (Europe) Plc. The Society was also Highly Commended in the category for Best New Prepaid Card Product of the Year, also with White Eagle. The evening was a fantastic success in celebrating the ever increasing presence of prepaid cards, well done to everyone involved.
